Scotch Scones
These are slightly sweeter and flatter than most scones. Easy to prepare and cooked on a griddle. These are great fun for kids to help make, as you can use their favorite cookie cutters if you prefer.
Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
Stir in the raisins after chopping the butter into the mixture and crumbling it with your fingers.
To make a soft dough, combine the egg, milk, and dry ingredients in a small bowl.
The dough should be rolled out to a thickness of 1/4 inch on a lightly dusted surface.
Stamp out scones using a flour-covered cutter.
To get 12, you might have to roll the dough again.
Dry nonstick griddle is heated to medium heat.
Cook the scones until they are slightly raised and golden brown in colour on both sides.
To cool, transfer to a wire rack.
