Spiced Spider Cupcakes
These creepy cupcakes start with a homemade spice cake topped with cream cheese frosting. They’re decorated with a black gel ‘web’ complete with gumdrop spiders.
Set oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).
Put paper liners inside cupcake pans.
flour, white sugar, and baking soda together.
In a bowl, combine 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon each of cloves and nutmeg.
Combine water, canola oil, vinegar, and two teaspoons of vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
Add liquids to the dry ingredients and whisk to combine.
There will be very little batter.
Pour batter into cupcake liners after transferring batter to a measuring cup or pitcher.
Bake in preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
The tops should spring back when gently pressed with a fingertip.
On a wire rack, let cupcakes cool completely.
