Sweet and Savory Sausage Cornbread Stuffing
A traditional holiday stuffing is elevated to new heights of deliciousness when Jimmy Dean® pork sausage is added.
Set the oven’s broiler to high and place a rack about 6 inches from the heat source.
In a big skillet over medium-high heat, add the sausage.
The sausage should be cooked for 5 to 7 minutes while being stirred and cooked with a spatula.
Drain, then set apart.
In the same skillet, melt the butter.
Cook celery and onion in a constant stream of stirring for 8 to 10 minutes, or until onion is soft and translucent.
For an additional two to three minutes, add the mushrooms.
Garnish with salt and pepper and sage.
Chicken broth and sausage cornbread bread cubes are then stirred in.
Filling should be moved to a 2-quart baking dish.
For 2 to 4 minutes, or until the top is toasty and beginning to brown, broil the dish in a preheated oven.
