Quick Angel Hair with Basil Cream for One

Large pot of lightly salted water should be brought to a boil.
When the pasta is al dente, add the angel hair and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
Drain the pasta in a colander in the sink after setting aside 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
Stay warm.
Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat as the pasta cooks.
Add the onion, stir, and cook for 3 minutes.
Add the garlic, stir, and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, or until the onion has softened and turned translucent.
