Placek
Placek is a yeast-raised coffee cake with a crumb topping commonly baked in eastern Europe for holidays and special occasions.
Place the raisins in a bowl, cover with water, and set aside for at least 15 minutes, or until the raisins start to plump.
In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water.
Allow to stand for five minutes or until the yeast softens and starts to foam up.
In a saucepan, combine milk and 1/2 cup butter and heat over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, or until milk reaches just below boiling.
Remove the pan from the heat and lukewarm the scalded milk.
