Never, Never Fail Pie Pastry
There is no fear of over-kneading this pastry.
Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
Mixture should resemble coarse meal after adding lard.
Whisk the water, egg yolk, vanilla extract, and vinegar in a separate bowl.
Add to flour mixture and briefly knead dough until it is smooth.
Before rolling out, give yourself 15 minutes to relax.
When pastry is chilled, working with it is simpler.
Refrigerator storage is possible for up to a week.
