Macaroni and Cheese
Easy baked macaroni and cheese made from scratch with onion and cheddar cheese. There’s a bit of dry mustard in the mac and cheese for zip.
Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).
In a 2-quart casserole dish, grease it.
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and bread crumbs; set aside.
Large pot of lightly salted water should be brought to a boil.
Macaroni should be added and cooked for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente.
Drain, then add to the casserole dish that has been prepared.
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over medium heat as the pasta cooks.
Add the minced onion and stir, cooking for 5 minutes or until translucent.
After incorporating the flour, dry mustard, salt, and pepper, add the milk and bring to a simmer.
Cook for about 10 minutes with constant stirring until milk has thickened.
