Confit Olive Oil Steak
Try cooking steak in lots of olive oil, “confit-style” in the oven before searing it to perfection in a cast iron skillet. A fool-proof method for the perfect steak.
Set the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit (95 degrees C).
Pat the filet dry.
Add salt evenly to the dish.
Put a piece of steak the size of the dish into a small glass dish.
Place thyme sprigs on top of the steak after pressing minced garlic onto it.
Add enough olive oil to the top so the steak is completely covered.
Steak should be cooked in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 135 degrees F (57 degrees C).
Take the steak out of the oven, then pat it dry.
Set a cast iron skillet to medium-high heat to pre-heat.
One tablespoon of olive oil should be added to the skillet, and the steak should be seared for 30 to 40 seconds in the hot oil, including the sides.
Slice and serve right away.
