Bon Bon Christmas Cookies
Cute ‘Cherries in a Blanket’ cookies. This recipe goes back at least three generations. My grandma made them, my mom made them, now I make them!

Shortening and cream cheese are thoroughly combined in a medium bowl.

To help it form a dough, you might need to use your hands after adding the flour.

A few teaspoons of water can be added if the mixture seems too dry.

Overnight or for several hours, cover and chill.

Set the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees C).

Grease cookie sheets very lightly.

Dust the rolling surface generously with confectioners’ sugar before rolling out the dough.

The dough should be rolled out to 1/8 inch thick.

Make strips of 1×4 inch size.

Put a cherry on each strip’s tip.

Each strip should be rolled beginning with the cherry.

Place on cookie sheets that have been prepared and sprinkle with some confectioners’ sugar.
