Baked “Fried” Rice
Do you want fried rice but wish there was a quicker way? With Chef John’s foolproof baked method, which treats it like pilaf, you can always get the ideal texture without clumps.
Set the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees C).
Fill a sizable baking dish with rice.
Add canola and sesame oils and stir to evenly coat the rice.
Add the ham, carrots, peas, green onions, bell peppers, and garlic.
Use salt to season.
Stir thoroughly to combine.
In a pot over high heat, combine chicken broth, soy sauce, and chile paste.
Stir and heat until boiling.
Pour over the rice and give it a quick stir.
Heavy-duty aluminum foil should be tightly wrapped over the top.
For 32 minutes, bake in the preheated oven.
Remove, then stand aside for ten minutes.
Lift the lid; fluff the rice with a fork.
Taste and adjust the seasoning.
